Known as an interesting and challenging table game, backgammon is similar with other board games that have been popular in early civilizations like Rome and Egypt. Senet and the Royal Game of Ur are two of the games, which most archaeologists believed to be the origins of backgammon. Both these games use dice and boards, which made them very similar with backgammon.
Backgammon boards and dice are very important elements of this enticing table game. Backgammon boards are where the checkers are placed. Since backgammon applies several military tactics, backgammon boards serve as the place where the warfare will happen. On the other hand, backgammon dice are significant to direct the numbers of moves that a particular checker will make.

Checkers are moved on the opposite direction of the player.

In this case, players should not be contented with learning about the materials used in playing the game, they must also know the basic rules in backgammon.
